So you want to become a licensed Paramedic in Alabama. Well the two of the largest schools in Alabama are offering entry-level training for EMTs and Paramedics, It includes the University of South Alabama in Mobile and John C. Calhoun Community College in Tanner. Paramedics in Alabama are required advanced training and certification. It’s usually required that one progresses through EMT-basic training before being able to move on to paramedic training. To become a certified EMT you must be at least 18 years of age.

Paramedic is in the highest of levels of emergency medical training in Alabama.

The levels are usually:

  • Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B)
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate (EMT-I)
  • Advanced Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (AEMT-P)

 

In order to become a paramedic in Alabama.

You must enrol in emt-basic training and become certified EMT.

You must be at least 18 years old.

Have a clean criminal background.

You are also required to have finished high school, GED or equivalent.
