If you want to become a paramedic in Arizona, a person needs to complete a program approved by the state’s Department of Health Services. Pima Community College in Tucson and Glendale Community College offers programs for future paramedics.
To become certified as an EMT or Paramedic in the state of Arizona, you are required to complete an approved emt or paramedic training program. You are then required to submit and fill out the certification & licensure application. You must also successfully complete and pass the National Registry written examination (NREMT) within 3 attempts. You must have a score of at least 70% in order to pass the exam.
For EMT-Intermediate and Paramedic candidates they must also pass the National Registry practical examination on top of the written exam.
The state of Arizona does not have any agreements with other states nor jurisdiction for certification and licensure. If a person possess a valid EMT-Basic certification from another state or jurisdiction, it may become eligible for certification and licensure in Arizona.
Paramedic is the highest of levels of emergency medical training in Arizona.

To get the basic education required to become a paramedic in Arizona. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
Generally you are not required to have finished high school to get EMT-Basic Training. Which is the stepping stone to becoming a Paramedic.
