The state of Indiana offers paramedic training degree programs at the Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis and at the Ivy Tech Community College system.

EMT Basic candidates in the state of Indiana must complete and pass an EMS course around 150 hours.You are required to possess a valid CPR card. You will then have to successfully pass the Indiana State EMT or Paramedic Exam. The National Registry Exam also known as the NREMT is not used in Indiana as most states, however the NREMT exam is only accepted in the state of Indiana, if you have an EMT or Paramedic license from another state.

The state EMT and Paramedic exam is similar to the NREMT exam. Which consist of a written and practical exam.

 

Emergency Medical services in Indiana are overseen by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
