Anyone looking to become a paramedic in the state of Maine can find such training programs offered at community colleges throughout the state.
Paramedic training programs can be found at Southern Maine Community College and Kennebec Valley Community College.
The programs will prepare the students for the EMT or Paramedic exams. The state of Maine has it’s own EMT and Paramedic Exams and do not use the NREMT exam as with many other states. Maine will still accept a NREMT Certificate under rules of reciprocity..
The Maine state exam is similar to the NREMT exam. Which consist of a written and practical exam.
To be able to enrol in Paramedic Training, one must first have certification in lower level emts. Such as Emt-basic and Emt-Intermediate.
