Paramedic Training programs can be found at Oakland Community College and Macomb Community College. A student must complete several lower level emt certification before they can enroll in paramedic training.
The National Registry Exams for Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams are used in Michigan as with the majority of states. Aspiring paramedics are required to pass both the written and practical exam in order to become certified and licensed in the state of Michigan,
A student must complete a Michigan approved EMT course and then register for the NREMT exam through their website.
The duration of a paramedic training program can be completed in 4 semesters. That is however not counting the lower level emt courses.
The students must possess certification in lower level emt courses. The student must be at least 18 years of age. They must have a valid CPR-card and will be required to re-certify every 2 years.
