Paramedic Training in Utah

Paramedic training in Utah can be found at Weber State University and Dixie State College of Utah. In the State of Utah they follow the Paramedic (EMT-P) National Standard Curriculum which is the bases of educational program and certification for all EMT levels such as: EMT-basic, EMT-intermediate and EMT-Paramedic.

In order to enrol in paramedic training in the state of Utah you must fulfil following requirements:

  •  You must fulfil all lower level EMT requirements as well as being a certified EMT.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You must possess a CPR Card
  • You must possess a High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • You must possess a basic writing and reading comprehension of a 10th grader.

Utah unlike many other states, utilizes their very own EMT & Paramedic exams to certify and license paramedics. The exam is similar to what you can expect to see in the NREMT exam which is used in most states. If you take the computer based exam, you would be able to see results immediately after completing the exam. If you take the written and practical exam, your results will be mailed to you within 2 weeks time.

For more information we refer to the Utah Department of Health website.
